It is my honour to be the President of Open University of Somalia, which is considered an exemplary role model of distance education in Somalia. And is one of such institutions established with the purpose of access and opportunity to higher educational pursuits of young aspiring eyes, hopes and our primary goal is to ensure the success of our students.
I encourage you to learn more about the University’s excellent online graduate programs and our outstanding faculty, staff, and administrators. Our intent is to support a learning environment in which students, faculty and staff understand the challenges, accomplishments and perspectives of various groups of people Based on the distance education system; we plan to serve as a provider of lifelong education. OUS offers a variety of programs ranging from Graduate Programs to certificate and associate degree programs.
The subject of education is of great importance today. In the rising 21st century, quality education is a matter of criticality and along with it many related issues such as policies, governance, affiliations and others are rising. With each passing day these issues are gaining importance and if, they are resolved in time and effectively they can influence the overall environment of the Somalian education system
we are strengthening our programs and services, emphasizing innovative approaches towards excellence in education, including the introduction of career development initiatives, competitive master level programs, and international accreditation of our university programs.Comprehensive and action-oriented, the plan, along with a transformative mindset, will capitalize on opportunities, partnerships and experiences that strengthen and more definitively establish our role as a higher education leader in our region.
The student is the most important person on our campus. We create opportunities and inspire students to achieve their goals. We recognize that in addition to our students’ academic pursuits, they lead full, rich lives and need our support. Yet, OUS offers more than just a great learning experience.
